Cantaloupe Ginger Sangria

Ginger liqueur and fresh cantaloupe are irresistible in this flavorful sangria.

Ingredients

  • 1 cantaloupe
  • 1 bottle dry, crisp white wine, like pinot grigio, chilled
  • 1 cup ginger liqueur, chilled
  • Ice
  • Club soda

Directions

  1. Cut cantaloupe in half and remove the seeds. Using a melon baller scoop out one half of the melon. Place balls on a parchment-lined sheet pan and freeze at least 1 hour.

  2. Peel remaining half of cantaloupe and place melon flesh in a blender; puree until smooth (should yield about 2 cups).

  3. In a large pitcher stir together cantaloupe puree, white wine and ginger liqueur. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Add frozen cantaloupe balls just before serving.

  4. To serve fill glass halfway with ice, then fill ¾ of the way with sangria mixture, making sure to include frozen cantaloupe. Top with club soda.

  5. Drink responsibly.
